Mini-Grants for Staff Members
Each year, monetary awards are presented to teachers, other staff members and district residents for special classroom and other educational projects. These mini-grants have provided enrichments in all areas of the curriculum and at all grade levels – through projects that would not normally be financed by district funds. Starting with the 1998-99 school year, the ceiling on individual mini-grants was increased from $1,000 to $1,500, while the annual budget for mini-grants was boosted to $30,000. Mini-grants have been awarded to fund projects such as a mathematics pentathlon, a writing center, an ecology program, an outer space project, plus several social studies and art projects.
